turning on my mp3 player reset my settings. Help?

When I turn on my 80gb ipod most thing like themes, EQ, and play back setting reset but not fully.  Like the Icon from the themes will stay and a few playback setting will stay but every thing else rest. and all I do to turn it off is to Hold down the play button.  And some files won't play also mostly wmp files not all but some, if you have any ideas; thanks.

Does your /.rockbox/config.cfg file (on your iPod) contain your own customised (non-default) settings?

No I'm just running the basic with the nerdSketch theme.  I just reloaded rockbox with the new auto program.  But I have manually try to reload and both times it didn't change the problem.  But I was think about reloading shitty iTunes and wipe it.  Then put rockbox back on.  Should that work? Or will I have to down grade the software to use rockbox again?

There are various key combinations to clear settings at boot time - it is possible that you are inadvertently doing this.  Check the manual for your player to find out what the combo is for your player.

/.rockbox/config.cfg is the file that stores your settings.  I'm asking if it is actually consistent with what you have changed your settings to.  It is a simple text file that you can open with Notepad or similar.
