Custom metadata property in Rockbox v3.2

(1/1)

Slipknot:
Gen 5.5 80G iPod  w/Rockbox 3.2 (mar 09)

I have download a tremendous amount of live music and meticulously converted all files to .FLAC and tagged those files using Foobar2000's "Live Show Tagger" component.

Live Show Tagger (LST) is a utility that facilitates file tagging from the .TXT file that is provided with live shows. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I haven't paid too much attention to standard FLAC tags until today.
I wanted to change the default in the iCatcher.WPS file. Using the customWPS wiki help (  http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CustomWPS ) I quickly identified what I want to do; Change the:

%s%ac%?id<%id|%?d1<%d1|Unknown Album>>

To show the metadata tag "VENUE" instead; except that isn't a simple thing.

The choices are:
Composer
Album Artist
Album Name
Grouping
Genre Name
Track Number
Track Title
Comment
Version
Year
Disc Number

Apparently LST creates a custom metadata property called "VENUE". I can see it clearly in Foobar2000.

Other than retagging my library of live music ( I was thinking of replacing the "Album Name" metadata with "Venue") Or can I tweak the WPS file to show "Venue"?

Chronon:
It's a bit old, but there's this: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/2616

Slipknot:
Mark Arigo solved this back in Aug 2005.

The rub is:
Due in Version:    Undecided
Due Date:    Undecided

Rather than figure out how to  recompile Rockbox with this patch, I opened up MP3TAG v2.43.

 I create a pretty action simple rule (insert>create action>"Replace Album Title with Venue & Date">format value>: field:Album>format string:%Venue%  ♦ %Year%

Then I selected my live music library (that had no album name) and >convert>action>replace album.

About 5 mins later that rule has been applied to 9900 songs.
