ipod 80gb 5th gen keeps booting in to "srv diag boot"

Every time I turn it on even after resetting it boots straight into srv diag mode. Could someone please help me to to sort this problem?

that isn't the problem. all buttons on the wheel are fine. it doesnt go to srv diag boot all the time but 99% of the time it does. when I dont get the srv menu it takes to be a black screen saying "cant load rockbox.ipod:. read failed(image). I have tried reinstalling rockbox a few times now and still get the same problem.

i have had my iPod 5.5G boot into diag mode, sometimes as well. Only about 1 out of every 20 times. Maybe its a bug in the bootloader?

I seem to have got rockbox installed for now although I am having another problem now which I have posted in another thread (it crashes whenever I play a song).
