Rockbox playing back itunes imported mp3s
iPodFoo:
Oh ok.
I think when I view the file list on the ipod, it lists folders first then files, I assumed it would play in that order.
Anyway, thanks all. Apologies for wasting time.

I agree this is counter-intuitive behaviour. Most file browsers tend to show the subfolders first and then the files - I would expect Rockbox to play in that order too. I might take a gander at this and see if I can fix this behaviour.

Please don't. That's just broken...
Llorean:
If you're in \music playing \music\bob.mp3 and if finishes, wouldn't you then expect it to go "inward" to deeper subfolders?
This is pretty regular, recursively going through files goes through the files in the parent, then the first subfolder, then the first subfolder's first subfolder, etc.
Reversing that means playback would start at the very deepest subfolder and work its way out. To me it makes sense to work your way deeper, not start deepest and work your way shallower.
GodEater:
As I said on IRC to you - I don't think so no.
If I'm playing music from a bunch of subfolders :
/Music/Album1/*.mp3
/Music/Album2/*.mp3
Once it's finished all the subfolders I'd expect it to play :
/Music/*.mp3
But as we've already discussed this and you disagree I don't see any point going any further down this road.
