Placement of jpegs in file browser

I had a quick question that I'm not sure has come up before, regarding jpeg files. I never had any on my ipod until they were supported for album art, but having put some on my player now, they seem to be sorted differently than bitmaps. If I use alphabetical sorting of files (the default), a folder with a bitmap cover looks like this:

01. x
02. x
cover

and with a jpeg cover:

cover
01. x
02. x

Sorting by type puts either cover file at the bottom (which I'm used to, obviously since it's been the default and all). I'm fine with sorting by type, as it doesn't seem to have broken anything for me (as it probably wouldn't, all my music files start with track numbers), but I was just curious as to whether this is the intended behavior for alphabetical sorting. If it is, no worries, just asking for clarification/hoping to bring it to light if it was unintended. Thanks guys.

Alphabetical sorting in the file browser sorts filenames alphabetically. The extension only matters when two files have the same name up to and before it.

Could you take a screenshot of a single folder with music files, a cover.bmp and a cover.jpg showing them at opposite ends of the list?

Possibly also give explicit directions for reproducing it (as I doubt your files are simply named 01. x, 02. x, and cover with no extensions)

What a surprise, I made a stupid error and posted about it before I tested it properly. Sigh. I carefully explained the way all my files are organized except for the exact folder I was seeing this in. The folder in question had songs that didn't start with numbers... in fact, they happened to start with D. So. Yes. That explains the behavior perfectly. It was a new file, so I had never put album art in it before, which I guess is why I so hastily overlooked such a crucial detail.

Sorry Llorean. I've been trying not to post unless I have something really crucial to say. This is obviously a non-issue now, so this can be deleted if you want.
