Sansa with larger HD

Ok, here is my question. How hard is it to upgrade the hard drive in a sansa e280? Can I get more memory?

There is no hard drive in the Sansa. It's flash-based.

If you want more storage, just get a microSDHC card and insert it into the expansion slot.

I upgraded to the RB FW just so I could take advantage of larger than a 2GB MicroSD card.

I bought a Sandisk 8GB card on EBay for <$20 shipped. 16GB seems to be going for around $40.

Ok, here is my question. How hard is it to upgrade the hard drive in a sansa e280? (8 gigs all ready) And how much does a 16 gig drive cost? also, does it requires special talents to install the hard drive? Lastly, will windows recognize it's true size?

Yea, aaron, the storage inside the sansa is flash based, just like flash drives. I supposed you *could* expand the memory but you would need to find the same exact size chip that was installed and make sure all points are in the correct points and soldered. Your best bet is a microsd if your sansa supports it.

Okay, okay I get it. That was a stupid question and I should have looked around a bit more and just bought a micro sd (i found an 8 gig one for $20)
