Viewing playlist - filenames
(1/1)
ccwchew:
Enjoying Rockbox very much in the first 2 days since installation. A big appreciative thanks to the hard work people have put into this firmware.
I'm using a 30GB 5th gen iPod.
Had a question, when viewing a playlist in the context menu, is shows the filenames as:
1. HSHW.mp3
2. ECHT.mp3
3. IEIS.mp3
etc.
I suspect this is because of the iTunes format of jumbling all the files into their folder format and file naming system.
Is there anyway around this?
Or I'm guessing a fresh copy of songs to the iPod using Windows would retain original filenames and album folder structure?
AlexP:
Yes, those are the actual filenames, thanks to itunes.
If you don't want to use the Apple firmware, you can just copy and paste your music over and then use either the file browser or the database as you wish.
GodEater:
I think there's a patch in the tracker somewhere which allows the playlist viewer to show the titles from the metadata in the files rather than the filename too. You'll have to search Flyspray for it though as I don't know the number off the top of my head.
Chronon:
It's FS#7652 -- vcardenas has an unsupported build here. If you use that just remember to post problems with it in that topic.
