Hi.  Recently, work has been done to support the remote on the MR-500.  You can check http://www.rockbox.org/since-4weeks.html for a list of recent commits.  It appears the code has been separated into a common file for reuse in the MR-100 port, but probably the MR-100 doesn't make use of this yet.
