Windows cannot find '.\recycled\info.exe".
« on: April 23, 2009, 08:26:45 PM »
I'm getting this error at the moment when plugging my iRiver in to the computer, and when I go through My Computer to access it, it tells me that it is forbidden. I've been having a few problems with it recently but none of stopped me from being able to access any of my files like this is. I'm using an iRiver H120.

I don't know what other info to give. Ask any questions and I shall answer.

The last thing I did before getting this error was use the plug-in "disktidy"

What is trying to launch info.exe?  It sounds like you might have some kind of malware infection.  I would scan all drives on your system, including your H120.

No objects found and I don't understand your first question.

EDIT: I understand it now, it's just the autorun.

Autorun's a function of Windows.  It doesn't have anything to do with Rockbox.  You must have a file called "autorun.inf" in the root directory of your H120.

Ok, well I still cannot get into my iRiver because when I access it through the Directory/My Computer/File Viewer it says Forbidden.

You could still delete or inspect the autorun.inf from within Rockbox.  I don't think FAT32 supports any sort of permissions, so I don't know why your system won't give you access.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with a plugin so I'm moving this to the repair section.

Try using Windows Explorer and instead of left clicking on the iRiver drive, try right-clicking then select Explore.

It does sound like there's a hidden autorun.inf on the iRiver caused by some kind of infection.

Ok, so I am able to get in and view files again, however whenever I go to record anything it says the disk is full even though there's nothing on it.

And whenever I go to the plug-ins menu it just directs me to the Files screen.

Would just formatting my iRiver and then re-installing te Bootloader + Rockbox solve all this or just create more problems?

Any quick fix is fine, I leave for Phoenix at 7pm and will be away from the internet and want to use my iRiver to tape something in that time.
