iriver H140 - hangs and I04:IllInstr

(1/1)

sydb:
Hi forum,

I have an iriver H140D upgraded to a 60GB hard drive. I've used daily builds of Rockbox for a couple of years with no problems. In December I updated to 3.1 and I started getting problems. I have been short on time and haven't returned to it till today, when I tried 3.2 and still the same problems exist.

If I try to play an audio file (any type) the WPS hangs at 0:00. I have to reset with a pin. Sometimes I get I04:IllInstr. For example I just went to play a Vorbis file and I get I04:IllInstr at 32E8A266.

If I use some of the plugins I get I04:illinstr at xxxxxxx. For instance, I just went into the Bounce demo and if I press NAVI I get I04:illinstr at 32F80266. Blackjack I get 32F81266 without pressing anything. Brickmania - 32F80466, no keypress.

The original iriver firmware works just fine (but isn't as good as Rockbox...).

I wish I'd taken a backup of my working daily build before I updated in December!

Is anyone else seeing these problems? What could it mean? And where could I get a daily build from early last year or 2007?

Thanks in advance.

Michael

It could mean that some memory is bad.  You could maybe get around that by using a custom build configured with a smaller memory size.  If you want an old version, you can check out whatever revision you want from SVN.  See:

Do you have the latest/current bootloader?

The H100 Bootloader hasn't been changed for a long time but I seem to remember that there were issues with earlier ones and more recent builds.
