You need to specify the version number (if you are using the latest release) or the build number (if you are using the current build).  Since USB support is enabled in the current build but not in the 3.2 release, this makes a big difference to helping resolve your problem.

Try removing any memory cards, shut unit off, start it again, when it boots into Rockbox then plug it into the USB cord.

Well, removing the SDHC card resolved the issue.  Thank you!  Guess I'll just have to get a card reader to put stuff on my SDHC card.

You still aren't giving very much information.  Does the OF USB mode work properly?
