Problems after installing 3.2 on h120 - current build - freeze bug?!
« on: April 17, 2009, 05:34:39 AM »
Hi!

Since i've updated to the new 3.2 Firmware my iriver freezes when changing into another album/song while playing....

Any ideas to fix this?

Thank you!

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''EDIT:
Just found an easy way to fix this problem :) - I just used the Rockboxinstaller to completely remove all of Rockbox from my player - even the bootloader - than I restarted in the original FW, plugged in USB and did a complete ReInstall.
Now it seems to work again - with fading....

thx.

Do you mean that directory skip sometimes causes a freeze, like http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/10109 ?

Hi there,

thanks for the reply! No, it's different, acutually when I set it in the settings to "warn before changing the playlist" - so when the irver plays a generated playlist  - for example "all Artists" - then I want to play "Killer Queen - by Queen" and I am going to the "Artists" location in the "database" and select it, iriver asks me, if it's ok to reset the actual playlist. When I press "play" for "ok" it loads for a second, then it hangs again (I have different filetypes on the player flac, mp3, wma, ogg) - but it seems to me, that's not the reason...
It's not hanging, when I play a huge playlist - for example "all artists" - it runs, perfectly - only when I change it manually.

Thank you!

I'm having the same problem on my Sansa C250.  At this point, it does not appear I can even get the original firmware to boot up.  Making me think it's a corrupt file.

I'm going to try recovering my voice recordings tonight then un-install rockbox.  If I still have problems, then I'll try re-format and re-install original firmware.

Hi,

for this issue see FS#9842.
The workaround until this is fixed would be to either disable "Warn When Erasing Dynamic Playlist" or choose a font/language so that the string in this screen doesn't scroll anymore.

If you have additional info please add it to the bug report on the tracker.

Hi Paul Jam, Hi joek,

thanks for the hint Paul - "Warn When Erasing Dynamic Playlist" is the problem - and I have set the language to german. So that seems to be the problem - the only one I ever had with rockbox! :-) I love it.

Thank you!

Yea, my c250 would freeze before I could unset the "warn when erasing dynamic playlists".  I've since completely removed rockbox and, just to be safe, re-installed the original firmware (using the hold-rec trick to open the 16 M partition).

Thing is, I'm still having the lock-up problems so there is either a corrupt file on the Sansa, or my Sansa is in the process of failing.

Hard to diagnose when you can't get it working long enough to test it ;)
