Ipod Video - play songs while charging?

cool_walking_:
It's not at startup, it's while connecting the USB cable.  Since you mentioned "at startup", I wonder if you got mixed up with holding MENU+SELECT, which causes the iPod to reboot, or SELECT+PLAY at boot time, which starts disk mode.  Both of those are unrelated to this.

It definitely *did* work at one time, at least, but I've broken my iPod a few weeks ago, so maybe the feature's been broken, I dunno.

Chronon:
I don't have any iPod either, so I'm only going off of what's in the manual.  Let us know if it doesn't work for some reason.

By the way, holding MENU at startup will cause the Apple firmware to boot.

audio-i:
It worked for me on an iPod video and a Mini 2G.
gechu, perhaps the part that you are missing, is that you have to hold "menu" while running Rockbox (with your iPod on, not off), and before/while plugging the USB; otherwise it will happen what Chronon says.

Looks like breaking your iPod didn't break the feature after all  ;)
