Toshiba Gigabeat freezing all of a sudden

Hey im not sure where to post this so if its in the wrong section please inform me.

2 Days ago my gigabeat x30 was in my pocket and i was unaware that it was on, so i realised it was there, touched it and it was hotter than usual, i tried to choose a song but when i pressed the select option it said loading and it froze at that, and i can feel the hard drive work but its not spinning like usual, it would spin for a bit, click, then spin 4 a bit again, click and so on.
I restarted the battery and its been like that since then. It doesnt freeze, I can just hear the hard drive spin then click, but it takes like around a minute to do  a command.

Does any 1 knows what can be wrong?
I tried deleting some files from it because i am using 27 Gigs out of the 30 I got but still the same problem.

Any 1 knows what i can do?

That clicking could indicate that the harddrive is failing, a good time for a backup if you haven't got one.
