Status of e200 v1 sound?

(1/3) > >>

r00tb33r:
I don't think there is any e200 v1 user on this forum that would disagree that the RockBox sound on e200 v1 target is anywhere close to ideal.
I have searched the forum and found a lot of talk about patches, but it mostly dates back to 2007.  As of current build, what patches are not committed to the source tree that could improve the sound quality?
I am deciding on whether I want to keep my e280.  Will sound ever reach the quality of the stock firmware or is this a target to pass on?

Its as good as it can get.

In 3.2 and the daily build?  It sounds muddy, buzzy/distorted/clipped.

yapper:
I'm not experiencing any noticeable distortion

Llorean:
Without any bass/treble/equalizer, and with volume at 0db or less?
