Database Ignore function
og1kinoge:
Hi, I have some music on ipod in itunes music folder and some music in seperate folders i.e. FLAC files. I want to use the ignore database function for some files because I have copies of the same album in two different locations. I have placed a new file named database.ignore in the folders I do not want as part of database but they are still being scanned and listed in database which means i have duplicates of some of my albums.
Any suggestions?
Llorean:
Did you re-initialize the database after putting the database.ignore files in place?
og1kinoge:
I did re-initialize by using the Initialize Now function under General Settings. I will try again now. One question: does it matter what sort of file you create for database.ignore?
Llorean:
database.ignore shouldn't have a file type. If it shows up as a "type" of file, there's a likely possibility your file browser is hiding its real extension from you.

I may be doing this wrong but I have been plugging iPod into computer. Then creating a text file within the F Drive (ipod) and putting it into the folders I want ignored. It this the wrong approach?
