headunits that work with rockbox and/or ipod interface
(1/1)
miketunes:
So I've been using a 10-year old neo35 hard drive mp3 player in my car. I believe the neo firmware was a fork from rockbox, I really loved the interface (everything i have is organized in folders and subfolders). So the neo finally died and I want to get a new head unit anyway. I was thinking I could use a head unit with USB support and hook up an external drive. From all my research the head units have really crappy UIs for playing mp3s and other limitations (256 songs per folder, I need 1000). Ipod interface is supposedly better, and I read that parts of the apple serial control are now integrated in Rockbox.
So my question is, are there any head unit/ipod combinations that will allow me to have rock-box controls directly from a head unit?
dreamlayers:
Rockbox doesn't run on any car head units.
It seems the Neo35 source is still being developed:
SourceForge Project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openneo
The latest source tarball I could find:
http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=93587&filename=openneo-beta2-rc1.tar.gz
CVS repository: http://openneo.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openneo/
It is obviously based on Rockbox, sometime after r655. The Rockbox header has been stripped from files.
