Skip Track with Skip Length Set
(1/1)
major4579:
I use the Skip Length Setting on my Sansa e250. From the manual: "Skip Length changes the behavior of the Left and Right buttons so that they skip by a given time instead of skipping to a new track". This is how my Sansa works.
But I used to be able to skip to a new track by pressing LEFT then LONG RIGHT (vice versa to skip to a previous track). This no longer seems to work.
Is there another way to do this?
If not, anyone know which build number last had this feature?
I've checked the manual and searched the forums but haven't been able to find the answer.
Llorean:
This combination interferes with normal use of the player (being able to skip back and then seek forward, or skip forward and then seek back).
I couldn't way when it was removed, but it was certainly problematic. It's still possible to go to the next track by skipping forward until you pass the end of the track.
major4579:
It may be possible but it's very annoying when the track is 30+ minutes long! Maybe something like the "Skip to next Folder" could have a setting to change it to "Skip to Next Track". I would find that much more useful.
I now it was problematic, but it did do the job for me - Is there anyway to search the build notes to find such a change? I just don't know how to go about doing that...
kugel.:
See r20618. It was dropped in favor of directory skipping, which was there before skip length was introduced.
Tracking tracks is still easily doable, while dir skipping was not possible anymore.

Kugel,
Thanks - you said: "Tracking tracks is still easily doable". Did you mean "Skipping tracks.."?
If so - how do I skip a track when I have a Skip Length specified.
Otherwise I'll install the build from the previous day to r20618.
Thanks again
