New Theme: Spartan Black [was: yet another name needed...]

A while ago I made a theme for using the View Modes feature, which allowed to change in this theme, pressing one button, the colors of the icons and text in the lower panel, to three different colours (which was very cool). Now that the feature seems to be abandoned, I modified the theme and I want to upload it to the themes site, but the name I had for it doesn't fit anymore (3co or Trico, for the three colours), so I would really appreciate ideas for a new name... I seem to be stuck there.

If it helps, the theme was made to isolate visually the album art image (200x200), still showing complete information in the lower panel, using "minimalistic" icons and a white-grey-black palette. The second screenshot above is the no album art / hold screen (formerly another view mode).

This looks slick. I'd prefer a version that also uses the first screen on hold, showing nice big AA (maybe alternate the song info to Album, Genre and bitrate )

A name for such a simplistic theme is always haard to find. How about

"Beautifully Black"?

EDIT: I also can't wait to get the theme, allthough i am probably gonna have to make a few modifications to it for my usage. I myself prefer a time display for the battery . Anyway, a great job!

Looks like "Black" should be a part of the name... I like "Spartan Black", but I will think it over a little bit more... "Minimal Black" came to mind... will let you know when I upload it to the theme site

As you know, for now (on official builds) only one user font can be used on WPS (plus the unifont), so as you say, increasing the font size would leave a text line out.
I might port this theme for the Gigabeat sometime, the font could be bigger, and Album Art would be 240x240

Maybe I'll try my hand at theme porting again. It'll be rough (I own a c200).

The theme for ipod video is been uploaded to the theme site (under Spartan Black, of course )

@ Spoonman, the nano screen might be too tight... everything in the "console" is already unifont size

I'm thinking of doing a gigabeat version (image below), displaying 240x240 AA images is great! I'm not so sure about the first line info (after all, album art should make clear the album), so suggestions are welcome

perfectdrug, if you download the theme the source files are all there (it's just a collection of text files and images).

A gigabeat version would be great!  Maybe date/time could go on the first line.  I'll think about it some more.

This looks even better on the real deal

I already modified it to fit my needs, it took me a few hours (god, I find the WPS syntax realy confusing) but here's a list of what I changed:

- Albumart: Albumart is displayed anytime it is present. Extended Info is only visible if the song/file has no album art
- Clock: I changed the clock to 24h format and have it being displayed all the time
- Albumtitle/Bitrate/Codec: I have modified the track/artist display to display Albumname/Year/bitrate/codec when the hold switch is enabled
- BAttery Icon: Moved the battery icon a little bit to the right
- Battery Meter: changed from battery percentage to battery time

I'm giving this theme a try.  Looks nice and I like the Album Art-centric theme.  I had done a theme similar for 150x150 Album Art but I like this one better.  Thanks for creating it.
