FLAC and mp3 together in 5.5 G ipod 80GB

Hi, I recently uploaded a bunch of flac files on my iPod but after loading them I can only see the albums with .flac in them. All the mp3 albums seems to have disappeared. I can see them if I boot into the IPod firmware though.

Also the update time for my database is very slow. Any tips on how to improve it?
