screen flash while radio playing

My kid uses his sansa e200 to listen to the radio... however, as the screen turns off to save battery charge, the player continues to run and he sets it down and forgets that the auto-turn off will not work while the radio is being used... as a result the battery runs dead (OFTEN!!)... and you can imagine the drama (he's 10 after all)

any way to put in an option that flashes the screen or the wheel light every 5-10 min (maybe customizeable?) for duration and frequency... maybe even after a delay of 1 hour it starts... then you have an option restart the count down before the warning starts again...

Have you tried using the sleep timer?

it's in the system menu.

sure... thats the work around at the moment, but was hoping for a "flash alert" like on a bberry or cell phone that lets you know its active... it catches your attention when sitting on the counter and then you can turn the player off, if not in use...

or

maybe something like a "reverse snooze" setting on a alarm clock would be better....together with the sleep timer, have an option to ask if you really want to shut down/keep playing after running down the clock on the sleep timer set to X min, and it repeats
