c250 car adapter mode
drphillips:
FYI to the development team,
Installed version 3.2-090323 with bootloader version 5.0 date 2008-12-11t22:14:34 onto a c250 with OEM Firmware (OF) 01.01.00P and the car adapter mode would not work properly. When power was removed the player would pause while it was was paused re-applying the power it would resume playing as it should. However, remove the power and the player pauses, then the player shutdown after the idle poweroff, now when the power is reapplied it boots into the OF and not Rockbox.
test 1:
I manually installed Rockbox version r18607-3.0-080923 with Bootloader version 5.0 date 2008-12-11t22:14:34. The same results as above.
test 2:
I manually installed Rockbox version r18607-3.0-080923 with Bootloader version 0.6 date 20-Oct-07t22:18 (found via the following url: http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/sansapatcher-0.6/win32/). This time the car adapter mode worked as it should. Upon power up when power was applied it booted into Rockbox and started playing.
test 3:
I manually installed Rockbox version 3.2-090323 with bootloader version 0.6 date 20-Oct-07t22:18. This time the car adapter mode work as it should. Upon power up when power was applied it booted into Rockbox and started playing.
test 4:
Installed version 3.2-090323 with bootloader version 5.0 date 2008-12-11t22:14:34 and the car adapter mode would boot into the OF upon power being applied.
Currently I am using bootloader 0.6 with Rockbox firmware version 3.2-090323
Could someone please look into why the most current bootloader version 5.0 causes the car adapter mode not to work properly?
Thanks

This is because we don't have the USB stack running in the bootloader, and thus we don't have anyway to tell if a device plugged into the USB port is a PC or charger. Therefore if you use a bootloader that reboots to the OF, you will get the OF. I recommend grabbing the updated sansa bootloader off of filespray, since it will not reboot into the OF.

For what its worth, this problem isn't related to car adapter mode.

FS#9955 and a current build should work nicely

Yapper,
Thank you for the reply but I have a question for you.
I downloaded the Zip file from FS#9955 and extraxted the firmware.mi4 file for the c200 series player. Now what do I do with it. How do I get this file installed as my bootloader? I am assuming I have to use sansapatcher.exe but is there a cmd line switch I am missing or does the file need to be saved in the .rockbox folder?
Thanks for all the help.
