iPod 5.5 Gen - Unresponsive Click Wheel?

(1/1)

lawlcake:
Howdy folks! I just acquired a 30GB 5.5 Gen iPod, and it's awesome, especially with Rockbox! Everything is all working and dandy... except for one teensy little problem.

Here's the skinny, whenever I put the player on hold, the click wheel doesn't respond, which is fine and dandy because that's what it's supposed to do. Now, here's the problem: whenever I put it off of hold, the screen lightsnup, but the click wheel is still unresponsive for a few seconds until, after, it finally goes back going. This problem can't be a hardware problem because the click wheel is working fine in the normal iPod firmware, so I figure it's a bug in the Rockbox firmware.

And yes, I have the "First Buttonpress Enables Backlight" option set on "No". My current Rockbox firmware is r20599.

So what's the dealio? A bug in the Rockbox system? Maybe??!?!

Chronon:
This sounds very much like this known bug: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5230

lawlcake:
Actually, you're right. Upon further inspection, that's EXACTLY the bug I'm experiencing.

Any chance of this being fixed any time soon? In fact, if it's a very known bug, are there any other people experiencing the same bug I am at the moment?

cool_walking_:
I've actually gone and broken my iPod recently, but I did experience this for the entire time I had Rockbox on it.  As you can see on the task, it's been there since 2006, so I'm not holding my breath for a fix.

dreamlayers:
I've posted a patch which seems to fix the problem on my 5G 30GB iPod.  It should still be tested on 4G and Nano iPods.
