Knowing if v1 or v2 on eBay

(1/1)

Musturd:
I have a SanDisk Sansa e260v2. I am probably going to sell it on eBay and buy a v1 Sansa because I want Rockbox. I just wanted to know if there was a way I could tell if a certain model was v1 or v2 because in the eBay descriptions no one says which version it is.

I would not be against buying an e270 or e280 if I needed to, but I'd rather get an e260.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to a Rockbox compatible player?

saratoga:
You have to ask the seller what the firmware version number is.  There is no other way.

Musturd:
Ok...

I talked to someone who bought a refurb e260 from MicroCenter (blowing them out for $40) and got a v1.  Might be a good place to try your luck.  I bought a refurbed c240 there ($20), and it was a v1, too.
