No joy - database on iPod video
(1/1)
btwnc:
I had an uneventful installation, but now I can't play any music. No matter how many times I initialize, update, send to RAM, etc., I get no joy.
When clicking on Database from the main menu, I get a prompt that says "Building database...430 found...click previous to continue." There are only about 5 or 6 cd's worth of music on the iPod so I'm not sure where the number 430 comes from :0
When I browse directly to a music file using the file browser, and try to play the file, a "(root)(root)" comes up on the play screen and shorty thereafter the screen returns to the file browser.
I have removed the hidden iPod directory from the iPod, by the way (not anything from inside .rockbox).
The music files are all Vorbis (.ogg) and were created by EAC/Oggenc2. I have a /music directory on the same level as .rockbox and there are subdirectories under that.
What have I done wrong?!
Llorean:
What SVN revision of Rockbox are you using?
After the scan finishes, are you shutting down the player properly as part of the reboot?
Give more details about the files themselves (bitrate, tag types, etc)
btwnc:
Thanks for the help. I found the problem: EAC was set to pass ID3 tags in addition to Vorbis comments to the encoder. I unchecked the "Add ID3 tags" box and all seems well.
