Gigabeat F40 won't turn on with newest firmware

I have a gigabeat f40, and ever since I've updated to the release (3.2), it won't turn on unless i switch the battery switch off and then back on. Everything functions perfectly once its on, I just can't get it to turn on without flipping the battery switch back and forth first. Any ideas or suggestions?
