iPod Video 30GIG Unable to Shutdown While Connected to USB
« on: March 27, 2009, 04:22:55 PM »
Like the topic says my iPod is unable to shutdown while it is connected to USB. While not connected it is fine to shutdown, but for what I am doing I need it to be able to shutdown while connected.

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can't be connected while the device is off. What are you trying to do that requires this?

by shutdown i meant to have it at the charge screen and not running. i was trying to change the driver on the iPod. I had it set to a different driver for something that I was doing (yes, it was safe I was using it as a storage). I installed RockBox and I forgot to switch it back to apple and the only way to do it is while connected. While it's connected to turn it off, set the driver and let it install.

I did this on my iPod before rockbox all the time but since rockbox I lost functionality to shut off the ipod to the charge screen.

If the screen is on its running.

Instead, based on the last bit you said, I think what you are trying to ask is how do you get back to the Apple Emergency Disk mode?  I think theres some buttons you hit during power on.

correct, you have to restart the ipod (select and menu) and then put it into disk mode (select and play)
