Need some direction

Update: I fixed the issue.

I have a sansa e260R. I decided to install rockbox on it today. I followed the instructions found here:

Everything was going fine until I rebooted the player to finalize the installation. The system booted up and installed the new firmware but after the system rebooted again, it gave an error message saying that it could not find the .rockbox folder. I now realize that instead of putting the .rockbox directory in the root of the player, I put the contents of the .rockbox directory of the player. I tried to hook the player up to the computer again to remedy that problem but when I hook up the usb cable, the player reboots and gives errors.

Please advise.
