Request for theme Authors
« on: March 24, 2009, 06:15:42 PM »
The new theme site is up (see the link under downloads to the left).

Those of you who've made themes in the wiki: If those themes work with SVN Rockbox and meet the license requirements described http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=21063.0 should re-upload their theme to the new theme site.

New themes for SVN Rockbox should be uploaded here as well. We're expecting to take down the wiki pages at some point in the future. The new site will be used via RBUtil and of course direct browsing, and will offer some theme validation options to help ensure a better user experience for everyone.

Apparently, I can't upload a theme compilation to the new site. I get this error:Filename invalid: .rockbox/themes/Y.cfg (should be X.cfg) Is there something i missed? Another thing: you're not allowed to have spaces in your folder/filenames which is a disadvantage IMO. Rockbox is perfectly capable of handling filenames containing spaces, why cripple wps file names that way?

Well if you could post the actual error message and some more details about the theme you are trying to upload, it'd be a lot easier to help you.

You are allowed to have spaces in your filenames. Why do you say that you're not?

I can't unzip your archive. Which program did you use to make it.

And insulting me won't help you.

Now being at this moment in time.

Edit: The image of the menu is not shown anywhere at this moment, but will be in the future, probably shown as mouse-over for the main image.

Could I put in a request for someone to take a moment or two out of their day to move all of my themes over for me? I don't have access to my own personal computer and I don't have enough time at the library on their computers to grab all my files to re-upload them. It would be greatly appreciated...

In spite of being very clear in the theme guidelines, and also in the text in the theme uploading form ("Description: If your theme uses images from other
themes, please include the name(s) and author(s) of those themes here"), a theme (Boofers by Sharykin Vitaliy) based on one of my themes (AW200) was uploaded without honouring attribution... what should I do? I would PM the uploader, but I don't know his nickname

i think someone should be able to give out his valid e-mail address to you, because he has to follow the verify link, right?

Is this simply a matter of attribution? If so, I'll be more than happy to add it for you and send a stern mail to Sharykin Vitaliy.

Yes, simply a matter of attribution, so what you propose would be fine, thanks  ... being of course attribution an important matter, as well as the other aspects of the license, so hopefully this example calls the attention of people uploading themes that use others material ;) although as I said, it is already very clear everywhere
