iPod Video's Rockboy

(1/1)

froggyman:
I have a 30GB iPod Video 5.5G, and noticed something bugs? with GBC games. I am currently using the latest stable build (3.2) but i have also noticed this with other builds.

1. When ever i exit any game (like mario or LoZ or pokemon) with the hold switch, the iPod will freeze and be non responisve until i keep togleing the hold switch a few times. Any reason for this, and will it ever get changed/fixed?

2. Is there any way to speed up the in game play. For i have noticed that no matter what i set the frame skip to and turn off the sound the game always seems slow. Is there any way to speed up the game with something like overclocking the iPod? Or will it always be like that until a more effiecient emulator is built for rockbox? Or is it just because of harware limatations?

Any help or insight is appreciated!!!

The normal boosted frequency is 80 Mhz.  The patch at http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/8668 changes it to 100 Mhz.

thanks, now i just need to learn how to compile...

ohh and i have some questions about the overclocking patch. Is it safe, meaning could i run this on my iPod for several years without having the processor go?

Ohh... And i didnt think i read anything about the clock speed being adjusted in that flyspray, so can you adjust the frequency through rockbox(meaning like on the player through a setting), or would i have to just boot into a non-patched version of rockbox to get to normal frequency?
