Addition to the new standby feature of iPod 5(.5)G's display

I really like that new feature, because I often carry the player around with me without changing the play list etc, so this will really increase the battery life for me. But every now and then I have to adjust the volume or pause the playback for a moment. Doing this, the display will turn on again, although I don't really need to see anything for these actions.
So what I'm asking, what about implementing an option to select specific actions, which don't turn the back light on again? This of course only makes sense for the WPS
