Text over image

(1/2) > >>

Job Van Dam:
I want to be able to have a sort of popup window when the volume changes that displays a volume graphic and the decibel level.

I'm wondering is there anyway possible to display text over an image or is there a way to change the background image?

Thank you.

JdGordon:
no, images are drawn last so they will cover any text.

Could it be swapped?  It seems to me that you'd want to place text over an image much more often than you would an image over text, since if you wanted to hide a character of text, you could just change the character to a space character.

Llorean:
Text "over" an image just means a line through the image with background visible anyway, due to how text is drawn, as far as I know. You could recreate the effect simply by splitting the image into a few different viewports with the text in a separate one.

There's really not a good reason to have text over or under images at this point.

what target do you have? i have created a wps for the sansa which shows the volume as an image and in dB when it's changed, otherwise it displays AA. i can send it to you and help you understand the code if you want. pm me !
