USB Connect Question (Sansa E250)
« on: March 21, 2009, 01:09:32 PM »
So I have a Sansa E250 that has had rockbox on it for a year plus. I recently updated the boot loader and rockbox to the newest versions. When I have rockbox running and plug in to power it charges, but when I plug it in when my E250 is off it starts the rockbox bootloader then restarts the original firmware. Is this normal behavior?

I have rockbox bootloader 5.0 and rockbox build r20427-090321 which is from today (3-21-09)

Thats normal.  There are bootloaders that don't do that in FS#9955.

as said above... http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/9955

that will make it always boot into Rockbox unless you specifically power the device on while holding down the left button (i.e. rewind button) on the digital pad.

to use that there you just do a "sansapatcher.exe -a PP5022.mi4" when the device is connected to the USB cable and it will patch the bootloader to always boot into Rockbox.

p.s. i aint sure if you can do that while Rockbox is running so i would boot into original firmware when doing the sansapatcher.exe stuff i said above just to be safe.
