4th Gen Nano 8gb Ipod patcher wont recognise device
(1/1)
bryn:
Evening all,
Having had Rock box on a previous Ipod, I thought I would install it on my new one.
Story so far is
Down loaded the latest 4th gen grey scale zip.
Down loaded the auto install,
Downloaded the ipod patcher
The problem I have is that the auto route cant detect my I pod through auto detect.
I am on XP,
full admin rights,
PC recognises and assigns a letter, ( i have even tried changing the drive letter but nothing happens)
Uninstalled Itunes
Rebooted several time, but still no joy.
I then tried the Manual route,
Unzip to the root of the pod,
Run Ipod Patcher but the following appears in the CMD Box
ipodpatcher v3.0 with v3.0 bootloaders - (C) Dave Chapman 2006-2007

Press ENTER to exit ipodpatcher :
I have searched for a while but cant seem to find any reason why this wont work.
Would anyone have any suggestions??
Many thanks
Bryn
Llorean:
Did you perhaps search the front page where it says 4th Gen Nanos are not supported?
The "gray scale" ought to have been a clue... that's for the standard 4th gen iPod, not the 4th gen iPod Nano.
Please, when you "search for a while" start with the very front page of the site where we list all the players that work properly.
