fixing VBR MP3s
«

I have a couple of albums in VBR mp3 format. When I play them on the JB there is some skipping. Fine.. Went to the Wiki and found the VBRfix program but it doesn't seem to work right - it either corrupts the files or makes them play at half speed(woman's voice sounds like man's
). Is there any other software that creates the NULL frame correctly for all VBR files.

You could try the vbrfix plugin. Select the file in the Rockbox file browser, hold ON and press Play, then select "vbrfix".

It works however I didn't want to do it manually for 40+ songs. So instead I just ripped them again using CBR. Problem solved.

Another option would be to use an mp3 encoder that can produce proper VBR headers! ;-)
