iRiver I2C and IBUS

(1/1)

iCiuK:
Hi all, I am a new bie and I am happy to join to you.

I installed my iRiver HP120 on my BMW Mini equipped with her original car audio.
My idea is: iRiver use I2C and Mini's use IBUS, why not to try to use CAR in order to drive the iRiver?
I have IBUS interface for pc, where can I find the I2C interface for iRiver? and how can I connect iRiver to interface?

thanks in advantage

andrea

Multiplex:
You would probably be better off in the Hardware topic, but other than that I have no idea - sorry.

Moved to Hardware. Continue on.

Domonoky:
You will find i2c only somewhere internal to the iriver somewhere on the board.
And you can not just connect i2c and IBUS it magically works.

But theoretically it should be possible to make some hardware board which uses the  remote connector (see here for pinout: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IriverHardwareComponents) to connect the iriver to IBUS.

Then you could make some Software changes in rockbox, and use the car buttons and navidisplay to control the iriver.
