Archos 605 Series
« on: March 09, 2009, 05:04:40 PM »
I have recently been given an archos 605 with a bad hard drive by a friend. I am replacing the hard drive with a ZIF compact flash adapter, and would like to do some work porting rockbox to the 605.  Has anyone done any work on this yet?  If so I'd love to collaborate.  I have downloaded the GPL'd code from Archos's website, and I'd love to do some work porting rockbox to the unit.  I'm in the process of reverse engineering the bootloader process.  I have all the schematics for the unit available if anyone needs them.  Just get in touch if you'd like to help, or have already done some work on this player.

Check out http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/NewPort first.

Other than that, knock yourself out. New ports are always welcome, but expect to do a lot of hard work.

This is a link the DaVinci EVM Schematics.  The DaVinci Chipset is used as the core of the Archos 605
