Thinking About Doing This...

Hey guys,

I got my iPod in September, I have the 120gb version, could someone tell me what generation I have?

Also, if I have a compatible iPod, is it possible to revert back to Apple's firmware? I really don't want to risk a chance screwing my iPod up but I love my FLAC's!

Encrypted Apple firmware with no attacks identified means it won't happen until there is a breakthrough, at least.
Rockbox and IpodLinux (ok, also SansaLinux) are the only replacement firmwares out there for modern DAPs, and obviously all players in the game face the same hurdles.

Is there definitely going to be a breakthrough you think? Or will I really need to buy a 5.5 gen or w/e?
