The home page should say "Not the v2 Sansas", as opposed to AMS

<< < (4/5) > >>

Llorean:
I more meant "when did they start putting V2 on the back." As in "since when" in a literal sense. I thought when they were originally released they were indistinguishable (unlike the Rhapsodies which listed different features on their boxes) without being opened and booted up. I thought it was more than just refurbished ones that may not be labeled.

Maybe "Not AMS Sansas" with a link to the AMS sansa page including a listing of what players are involved.

JdGordon:
ok, that I dont know...
as for the text, I agree that for the time being is should say "only the first generation hardware" or similar, I'd guess most people wouldn't know what AMS means... although alot wouldnt know the difference between first and 2nd gen anyway.

Maybe we change the whole thing to just say "Some Sansa e200, c200, etc (click here to find out if yours works)" and link to rbutil wtih quick insturctions to check?

painkiller:
The titling should be consistent.

Right now, it is:

--- Quote ---(not the AMS models)
--- End quote ---
on the front page,

--- Quote ---Sansa V2 Family
--- End quote ---
on Status for current and work-in-progress targets, and

--- Quote ---Sansa AMS
--- End quote ---
on Sansa V2 Family

I support Llorean's suggestion. It could look like this:

--- Quote ---(not the AMS models)
--- End quote ---
on the front page.

And "Sansa V2 Family" should be renamed to "Sansa AMS models".

yapper:
The front page currently refers to Sansas being compatible but "(not the AMS models).

This is no use to the average user, as they are unlikely to appreciate what hardware is in the player. Why not refer to the OF version instead, as this is the only way to externally distinguish the models?

Hillshum:
good idea

I have a patch to change that, should I put it on flyspray or what?
