Clarification - can I use external control gizmos when I have Rockbox on my iPod
uOpt:
I don't have the accessory I want to use yet.
What I did is before I buy the accessory I actually need I tried it with a random alarm clock ipod thing that my wife has to see whether Rockbox maybe does all the serial stuff anyway.
What I want to use in the end is the Apple Store car set that has charger, line out and a wireless little round thingy that you can strap to the steering wheel (I'll use the hand brake, thank you).

Ahh, I see now. Well, I have the Kensington FM/RDS transmitter for mine. The only external controls for mine are selecting the FM transmission frequesncy, which gets displayed on the iPod sceen (only in iPod mode).
When I tried stable v3.1, only charging worked. But once I upgraded Rockbox to current (r20102-090225), it is functional. The only features that still don't work is displaying the FM transmitting frequency on the iPod display (no surprise, no big deal, since I have 3 presets saved in the transmitter anyway), and displaying track name and track artist on the radio, via RDS.
If you get the device and test, posting the details about what exactly doesn't work with it would be the place to start. I suppose....

I don't think Rockbox supports Video-in to the iPod yet

correct

But would that be Video In? I suppose it could be, but IIRC somewhere it was mentioned that it was a software program that got 'loaded into the iPod whenever the transmitter was connected & turned on....
Is there a way I can find out?
