« on: February 26, 2009, 04:34:07 PM »
Hello,

First of all i love rockbox! Still have to get used to it but i just love the improved sound quality!!!

Now i have  a question my ipod still contains all songs ass itunes putted them on their. Can i just delete the map with all the mp3's and then drag n drop my new music ?  I have a 30GB Ipod and sadly this is not enough to contain my complete music collection and the way itunes left me i have no clue whats on their now  :-\

If you don't want to use the retail firmware, you can just delete the ipod_control folder or where ever it is iTunes put your files.

if you basicly just want to get rid of all your music (and stop using iTunes). The easiest way to get rid of all the iTunes music would probaly be to just uncheck all of your music, then do only sync checked media (i would recommend keeping videos with the apple firmware, cuz the player for video with rockbox isnt that great). Then just resync your iPod, and just start creating your music directory on your iPod.

I kinda threw itunes of my computer. Itunes started my rockbox adventure since i formated my pc and it wasnt sync anymore with my ipod i got kinda angry and now i ended up with a improved ipod without the apple crap  ;D

I would just want to keep the oportunity to go back to the normal firmware but i dont care about being sync with itunes(which i uninstalled already). I just want to get rid of the current filles and start drag n dropping my collection.

Then do what saratoga said.  Note that iPod_Control is a hidden folder, so you might need to change a setting in your file manager to show it.

You always have that, unless you break the hardware.  Rockbox also has a dual-boot function by default.
