My iRriver H140 died yesterday and won't start or power up

Here's how it happened. Please let me know if it's completely dead or there is a faint chance to get it working again.
Yesterday for the first time (after using it for several years), I used the "database" option and it built a database. All time time, I'll just load up FLAC files in a director and use "file" option to play them. So yesterday once it created a database, then everytime I tried to play a track using "file" option, it'll ask me if I want to erase database (use Navi button for Yes or any other for No). I pressed Navi for Yes and then it stayed on the same screen with the red harddisk indicator on. it was still like that after 5-10 min, at that time i thought it's probably froze and used the reset button. player tuned off and came back to rockbox boot screen and then turned off itself. turned on the player again, booted to original firmware and turned off itself after a few second. after that it won't turn on again :'(
please help. thanks.

You haven't mentioned if you tried re-charging it - building a database is rather disk intensive and can hammer the battery. If you've had it a few years and not changed it it may be getting a bit tired.

i left it charging for a while (green light comes on). also tried when plugged in with dc adapter. i know the hard drive works (i tried swapping with a H120).
