Sansa e200 V1 USB

(1/3) > >>

AstroBoy:
I just updated my Sansa E250 to the latest RB and plugged in the USB while RB was running.  Normally it would reboot into OF or hang.  Now I get a picture of a USB connector and it seems fully functional!  WOW!  Thanks.  Is it safe to use?  Any risk of file corruption?

cool_walking_:
It should be safe, otherwise they wouldn't have enabled it.  It's been in progress (and tested along the way) for quite a while.  It's only now been enabled in current builds because a corruption bug that had been known for a long time has been fixed.  Basically, I think all the known bugs are gone.

Before it was enabled in current builds, a test build was made available to try to hammer out bugs.  Last time I saw the thread, which seems to have been deleted, about 20 people had used it, and I think it only turned up 1 minor bug (didn't cause corruption), which has since been fixed.

Bryan.Brake:
I have an e260R, and I can access the USB host from my OpenBSD box.  Your USB works better than the original firmware does.

Many thanks for the hard work...

Kind regards,
Bryan Brake

Daveybaby:
Fantastic work! Thanks to all involved.  :)

Yes, a big thank you to the Rockbox team! Kudos! Quick question, though: For the e200 to automatically boot into Rockbox from an off state when connected to a computer (vs. booting into the OF, as it does now), we would need a new bootloader, correct?
