My computer wont reconize my ipod ..

Hi .. i think my ipod is screwed up , its a ipod video 5G 30g, my computer doesnt seem to see it even on disk mode but my battery is charging .. so its not my usb cable.
and on the normal ipod firmwire , my computer see it but when i click on the disk , it say there nothing in it , ( 0 bytes ) ... i mean i can open the folder but there nothing inside ...
and sorry for my bad english ::)
any idea ?
ps: now it give me the error : F:/ is not accessible , The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
or sometime i get : please insert a disk into F ..
or sometime nothing happen i cant see the disk at all ..
but when i click on the icon remove safely hardware , i can see ;
; usb mass storage driver
-generic volume F
-Apple iPod USB device

Charging only verifies that the wires that connect to V+ and ground are intact. It doesn't necessarily tell you anything about whether or not the data lines are intact. Try varying things one by one (different port, different cable, different computer, etc.). You may also wish to boot Apple's diagnostic mode and run a check of the HD.

Do what Chronon said. It sounds like your hard drive may have failed.

i just did ipod diag , it say : no ipod found ....
