How to add music, cant seem to find files
formaldehyde:
alright so i did read the manual and try to find out how to add music
and i see that rockbox basically uses the music player as some type of drive. but when i open up the drive on my computer, i cant seem to find any of the music. so i was wondering how to add new and remove music from the ipod. i know im supposed to use the update function but i odnt really understand how im supposed to do that while the ipod is hooked up.
any help? :-\
LambdaCalculus:
Just create a folder on your iPod's hard drive, and copy your music onto it. Simple as that.
formaldehyde:
but what if i want to delete an existing song on my ipod
ic ant find it
Chronon:
All of the music that iTunes put on your iPod is in /iPod_Control/Music/. You can delete the whole directory or use iTunes to remove music. Don't use iTunes to add music if you want to be able to easily browse the files in Rockbox's file browser.
formaldehyde:
what if the only folders i see when i click the ipod drive are
.rockbox
calendars
contacts
notes
playlists
if i click through any of them, none of them lead me anywhere to the music. its pretty odd and my computer only recognizes the pictures ( themes ) and doesnt recognize any music. but my ipod plays the music in it fine. am i approaching it the wrong way?
