Upgrading to new version on E200R

(1/2) > >>

I have a fully working E200R series running version 2 of Rockbox.

Would I be able to simply copy the 3.1 files over to upgrade or is there more to it than that?  In other words is the bootloader the same.

Maybe you mean 3.0?  2.0 doesn't run on the Sansas (it came out years ago).

The bootloader hasn't changed in a year or two, so you probably don't need to upgrade the bootloader unless your build is extremely old.

You tell me what version that is, pretty obscure naming.

I just want to make sure I don't brick the thing with an overwrite.  There's so many problem posts, its hard to tell what's going on.

Chronon:
The number after the "r" tells you the number of changes to the source code -- the revision number.  It's really not obscure at all.  The numbers after the dash tell you date it was built.

It's much less than a year old so you should be fine to just overwrite your existing .rockbox folder  with the release version.

gigaMojo:
ok, thanks, I meant the version # was not actually part of that code.
