Brand New
« on: February 23, 2009, 09:16:42 PM »
I am brand new to this, so don't shoot me. I installed Rockbox on my e200R--not easy, but I got it. Now when I turn on the player, I get the RockBox menu. But when I plug into my computer it reverts back to Rhapsody. I thought that I would get the same menu when I plugged in. Am I wrong or doing something wrong?
Thanks,

no... you're not dining anything wrong.
currently(as far as i know) rockbox does not support usb connectivity on the sansas, so it switches it to the old firmware to connect to your computer.

Rockbox doesn't currently have it's own USB mode implemented, because it's got a couple of bugs to be hammered out.  You might want to participate in the testing that's going on in the hope of getting it ready for the next release.

overall i like the new test build over on those forums... USB seems 'good enough' as far as i can tell.

all that really needs to be done is to make the bootloader never boot into the original firmware unless the user specifically needs it somehow. once it does that Rockbox will be flat out superior to the original firmware.
