e260r Help Needed
« on: February 23, 2009, 04:58:36 PM »
Hi, I'm trying to install Rockbox on my e260r and I'm having a problem with #6 in step one.

Quote
Run the e200rpatcher.exe file and follow the prompts. Your Sansa should have some text on the screen.

I run the e200rpatcher.exe file and I get the following:

[INFO] Press Enter to continue:
[INFO] Searching of E200R
[INFO] Found E200R, uploading application.
[ERR]  Error Writing data length
[ERR]  Bulk write error (-116, Unknown error)
[ERR]  Upload of application failed.
[INFO] Press ENTER to exit:

I've tried a few times now and it still isn't working.

Help is appreciated, thanks.  :)

Here's a similar topic.  It suggests that a flaky USB connection can cause this.  Try a different port, make sure it's not a hub, etc.

Alright, I'm at Step 7 now.

Quote
Copy pp5022.mi4 to the root of your device

Should I be in manufacture mode or regular connect mode?

Because it is not showing up under the former.

Edit: I got it to show up.  The root of the device is the "Sansa e200R Rhapsody" folder, correct?

Edit2: I got it to work, thanks for your help Chronon.

You don't want manufacturing mode now.

You're on windows, so the root of your player should correspond to a drive letter (like E:\).  If you're connected in the right USB mode (Rhapsody, not PlaysForSure) then your player should appear with a drive letter in My Computer.

Not really.  Different plugins appeal to me at different times.  I always run random_folder_advance_config on a new Rockbox install, though.

may i suggest(if you have the free space on you device of course)...
just installing all of the plugins and simply deleting the ones you find unnecessary.

All of the plugins are installed when you install Rockbox.  They also take up only a couple of MB or so, so unless you are that desperate, I'd just leave them.  Then have a read of the manual and a poke around the wiki to see what they do.
