Negative bass & treble
Mr Whippy:
How come there isn't a negative bass or treble setting in Rockbox? I know about advanced EQ but it looks a bit too complicated. I don't actually need it seems spot on with EQ and bass disabled but may be useful for others.
Also does Rockbox have loudness feature? (at low levels bass is boosted, higher you go to 00dB less or no boosting going on)
Febs:
At least on some targets, the bass and treble controls are hardware-based, and so whether they allow both boost and cut depends on the hardware limitations. For example, it is my recollection that on the iriver H100 and H300, the bass and treble feature are boost-only. On the iPod Video, however, you can boost or cut, and also select a cut-off frequency.
There is no loudness feature in Rockbox, though you could simulate one by setting up a series of .cfg files with settings for volume, treble and bass.

Actually, there is a hardware-based loudness setting on HWCODEC targets. For example see the Archos Recorder V2 manual.

You're right! I've never owned an Archos and it's been a long time since I read the Archos manual, so I had forgotten about that.
