Porting a ipod classic

Has anyone successfully ported a Classic yet? I've got an 80gb and really really want rockbox. I'm sure that given this much time SOMEONE can give me some advice.. do I really have to do it all myself at this point? the 6th gens have been selling longer than many of the others at this point... im pretty sure.
